Basically, “I got worms.” As I’ve learned firsthand, if you’re in college, you probably don’t know what movie I’m quoting, because you’ve missed out on the cinematic magnificence that is Dumb & Dumber.
Moving on.
Okay, so earlier this week we got quite a bit of rain around here…a couple days in a row. Well, earthworms are not really big fans of really wet dirt (mud). My son is a huge fan of all three; rain, dirt, and worms. So upon our return home from a short venture to Grandmama’s house, our back alley was crawling with tons and tons of worms…literally. Seriously, some were monstrous! Ezra, after being inspired by Curious George and his fishing adventures, wanted to catch all of them so he could put them on a hook and go fishin’! After all, he is a master angler.
He was terribly worried about cars running over them and squishing them. It was rather interesting to witness his zeal unfold as he ran from worm to worm to “save” them, all the while planning to sacrifice (kill) them later for some fish…hmmmm.
Two nights in a row, a worm extravaganza ensued as we collected over 60 worms! With every capture Ezra squealed as if he had just dropped some Menties (Mentos) in a 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke. We both had a really good time…
I don’t know what on earth I’m gonna do with all these worms (haha get it?).
