Fading Fast

The summer seems to be flying by and clearly way too fast for me to post anything of any use.  Its been packed full of planning and preparation for the start of the semester coming up, along with some awesome vacation time too!  We headed out west to see our old neighbors!  So we crammed in all kinds of stuff (as much as we could) into 11 days and drove it!  Yup, we drove it…with 2 kiddos!  Absolutely crazy, yet definitely rewarding.  We felt like we had accomplished a great feet by the time we had gotten home.  We hit the Petrified Forrest, Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Las Vegas Strip, The San Clemete beach, Chuck E Cheese, SeaWorld, LegoLand, couple family visits…and tons of other things that would take too long to explain!

It really was a good thing for our family to hit the road…Crystal and I definitely miss traveling all the time, so it satisfied that craving to be on the move.  Next year we will probably do something closer :)…

With so many things around me changing…so many things I thought were constants and absolutes…I am reminded that life is short and my family is absolutely precious to me…And no, a family vacation will not be the firm foundation for a family…but it sure makes for good memories along the way…I want to be a father and a husband much like my dad…Someone who puts my family before myself…I want to cherish my wife and give her my best…and therefore give my kids my best…because the best thing I can do for my kids is to love Jesus and love their mommy so well that Ezra knows how to treat a woman and keep a covenant…and so that Calla won’t chase after some idiot…

Make the most of your time…love Jesus…and love your family…seems like the best way to learn how to love everybody else…and therefore be made known by your love.
